“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”
– Steve Jobs
I’m taking some time to reflect this evening.
I am exhausted but it is SO worth it. In the past 3 years I’ve really turned my life around.
When I was 15 I wrote in my yearbook that I wanted to have my own clothing label in Brighton.
This year I finally moved to Brighton and my label is starting to take off!
Making your dreams come true doesn’t come easy, but it’s worth all the effort and stress!
I never want my work to be easy. I don’t want to get bored.
I want to design some really intricate pieces in 2018, I want to do more bridal work, I want to break into new markets whether that’s through finding stockists or expanding my product range. This isn’t just a job, a career, a hobby. I’m not just designing cute knickers. I’m designing a life style that makes me happy and supports me financially.
I’ve still got the Christmas rush to get through. My orders book is filling up and I’m regularly ticking things off and sending my work out to more and more places across the globe. I’ve been balancing my work with my part time jobs and pushing through the tiredness, but I always feel like there’s so much more I want to create! So in the new year I will be giving more time and energy to Biscuit Couture. As I told myself the day I decided to leave London, move back in with my parents, and get reacquainted with my sewing machine after doing my Masters in Cultural Studies…

…thank you Fleetwood Mac.
I’m buzzing with energy this Christmas season. I don’t think I’ll ever fall out of love with creating beautiful clothing, and it gives me so much satisfaction producing my products for clients who have equal enthusiasm for what I do.
I might not get a chance to post another blog before the new year, so I want to wish everyone reading this a super happy festive season! Thanks for all your love and support! Now let’s do Christmas!
