The story behind Biscuit Couture
This is My Story
Hello all! I’m Biscuit, more commonly known to my friends and family as Seeb. I’m the owner, designer and seamstress at Biscuit Couture. I’ve been sewing since I was about 4 years old, when my dad used to help me create new clothes for my Barbie dolls! I’ve always had a creative streak. Ever since I was 15 years old, I’ve know that I wanted to run my own fashion label, but I spent my early 20s trying to find a stable, grown up job. So after getting a BA in Audio & Music Production and an MA in Cultural Studies, and sending out countless CVs for admin jobs I didn’t really want, I packed it all in to pursue my dreams!
In summer 2014, I started building my first collection, including corsets, skirts and culottes. After launching Biscuit Couture in October 2014, I started taking on custom orders to keep things moving, and that’s how I got into making ties, bow ties and cravats, which I now absolutely love making! As well as suit accessories, I also have a passion for making lingerie, from pretty cotton panties to more vintage influenced styles, such as satin French knickers and camisoles. I still make the occasional corset, ranging from floral cotton plastic-boned overbust corsets to luxurious little steel-boned satin underbust corsets.
I’m currently focusing more towards wedding attire, both for him and for her, so please do get in touch if you have any custom orders, no matter how outlandish you think they sound. I’m always up for a challenge!
